Media Consultation
Group sessions will be done with former Big Country 93.1 Sports Director Big Paul Thomas on how to approach the media regarding promotion of upcoming events and following up with results, the importance of contacting media well in advance of an event and posting results as soon as possible upon completion, preparing for interviews, how to face one interviewer as well as media scrums, answering in complete thoughts and sentences rather than one word, using all available media outlets or at least giving each an opportunity to help promote your event, learning to be patient and forgiving with reporters, and tricks and tips to be comfortable in front of a microphone.
Mental Skills
Mental training is a vital component to an elite athlete's training program. Armed with valuable mental skills, the athlete is able to demonstrate physical preparedness and attain peak performance at major events. Our Sport Psychology Professionals will empower athletes by teaching and implementing essential visualization, stress management and problem solving techniques.
Nutrition with Heidi Bates
Sound Nutrition is essential in enabling athletes to perform at their best. With demanding training, travel and competition schedules, it is challenging for athletes to meet their necessary dietary requirements. Our Nutritionist will provide guidance through dietary analysis, individual consulting and seminars to empower athletes to make optimal choices that keep them fuelled for personal best performances.
Sport Medicine/Therapy
The training demands that an elite athlete faces on a daily basis inevitably results in the risk of injury. Our physiotherapist focuses on recovery and regeneration, not just from illness and injury, but from the rigors of training and competition. It is through this process that the longevity of the athlete is ensured and their performance enhanced.
Strength and Conditioning
Good preparation and understanding of the physical requirements of a sport are the corner store of performance. Strong physical preparation not only enables an athlete to be more powerful and responsive, it also helps prevent the onset of fatigue and potential injury during performance. Our strength and conditioning experts will help the athletes to reach their full potential by providing a solid base in strength and fitness, specific to their sport.
