Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) Implementation Plan Summit: October 29th

What:  Now that virtually all National sport Organizations have completed their LTAD models it is now in the hands of the delivery system to implement those models (PSO’s, Clubs Community Coaches etc).  Through this Summit you will find out the basic steps on how to start this process, what resources exist to help, how to create and sustain change at the community level, and provide some examples of what has worked and what challenges have been encountered in other provinces.

Who: This is an invite (for those attending in Edmonton) for 2 members of your Provincial Sport Organization that work directly in or are responsible for athlete development in your organization. For those outside Edmonton, you have the opportunity for attending via videoconference at the hosting Alberta Sport Development Centres in your region noted below.  Those attending from the community level at your local ASDC are limited in numbers by the capacity of your ASDC’s meeting space so please check with the representative noted below.

When:  Monday, October 29, 2012 from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm

Where:  In Person – Grant MacEwan University, Robbins Health Learning Centre – 10910 -104 Avenue, Room 9-101 (main floor)  *** If attending in person please RSVP to Dean Kozak at dean.kozak@gov.ab.ca or 780-415-0265 prior to Wednesday October 24th so we can ensure appropriate space and catering needs can be met as we will have a light breakfast & Lunch will be provided ***   For those attending via videoconference please contact your local ASDC representative listed below to see if they will be hosting a session and if so the location and other pertinent details.

What to bring: To help facilitate the process we’d like you to bring a copy of your sport organization/club’s strategic plan.  Choose an area in that plan that you feel is/would be challenging to know or measure if success is occurring.  Be prepared to use this as a working case during the afternoon session.
