Wapiti Nordic Ski
Alex has been a member of the Wapiti Nordic Race Team for the past four seasons.
2014 was his most successful season to date winning a bronze medal at the Alberta Winter Games.
He is eager to push himself to achieve new goals this season of cracking the top five in his birth year and making the Alberta Development Team for 2015/16
Peace Curling Association
Ashton plays second on her curling team and is known to be an extremely competitive sweeper and shot maker.
Along with her teammates she won gold at the Arctic Winter Games as well as an individual sportsmanship award.
Along with her team mates she wants to compete at Junior Provincials, competing in Canada Winter Games or Juvenile Internationals.
Grande Prairie Gymniks
Austen has been involved in competitive gymnastics for the past four years. She is a national level athlete who has many top ten finishes.
This year she will be moving from the National Novice to National Open category. She is working on training to compete a laid out Yurchenko on the vault.
Some of her goals this season are the Canada Winter Games Trials and Western Canadian Championships trials.
Nitehawk Alpine Ski Team
Avery is a 16 year old alpine ski racer who has been competing for the last 6 years. She has competed in the Arctic Winter Games, International Whistler Cup and Can Am event.
She has won 3 gold meals, one silver and a Fair Play award in the 2014 season. She consistently finishes in the top fifteen for U16 girls provincially and placed top 10 and 7th overall for her birth year.
Avery would like to realize her dreams of skiing in the FIS series and competing at the highest level of her sport (Alberta Ski Team, NCAA race teams.
Peace Curling Association
Cheyanne is 16 years old and has been competing provincially and internationally in curling.
She has competed at the Arctic Winter Games, and qualified for Canada Winter Games trials. Her team went undefeated at Arctics winning a gold medal.
Her goal is to qualify for Canada Winter Games & win the Alberta Juvenile Provincial Championships and compete at the International level.
Dylan has spina bifida and has been in a wheelchair since he was 3 years old. However this has not slowed down this athlete who has competed in sledge hockey, wheelchair basketball and parapower lifting.
He has competed in provincial & national events in both wheelchair basketball and parapower lifting. He set a new Alberta & Canadian record in the 70 kg lift and two 3rd place finishes in basketball.
Some of Dylan's goals this year are to attend CPU Nationals in St Johns & the Parapan Am Games in Toronto
Eric has been involved as a player with GPMBA for the past 6 years in the AA competitive program. He is also a multi sport athlete who plays volleyball and basketball.
His coaches describe him as an extremely coachable athlete who is always positive and supportive towards his team mates.
This past July his team competed at the Tier III AA provincial bantam tournament and won gold. His goal is to be actively involved at AAA level.
Peace Curling Association
Kayla is the skip for a junior curling team. She is known for her leadership and dedication to the game.
She was part of the team that won gold at the Arctic Winter Games in Fairbanks this past winter and placed 2nd in juvenile provincials.
Her goals for this season are participating in Junior Provincials, Canada Winter Games or Juvenile Internationals.
Liam at the age of 14 was the youngest speed skater to skate in the older junior division in both short track and a long track international competition.
He broke the 50 second in the 500m in both short and long track.
Liam competed with the Alberta North Relay team that had silver medal podium finishes at the Arctic Winter Games and Alberta Winter Games.
He will work towards being selected to compete at the 2015 Canada Cup and training this season at the Regional Training Centre at the Calgary Oval with AASSA.
Mirelle is a multi sport athlete who competes for the Wolves Athletic XC running team as well as the Soccer team.
She won gold in the 3000m and silver in the 1500 at the ASAA track & field provincials this spring, and gold in the 3000m at Athletics Alberta Outdoor Provincial Championships this summer.
Her XC coach has full confidence that she will challenge for a spot on Canada National Junior Cross Country Running Team in another year or two.
Rocky Mountain Racers
Nicholas will be skiing and training with the Rocky Mountain Racers for the 2014/15 Season. He is also a member of the Wapiti Nordic Ski.
Nick has competed locally, provincially, nationally and internationally with the Arctic Winter Games and has medaled at each level.
His goals this season are to place top 5 in the Alberta Cup Series, compete at Western Canadian & National Ski championships.
Sarah has been skating since she was 4 years old., and while she enjoys other sports her passion and love is for figure skating.
She is the Pre-Juvenile U14 womens Provincial Champion and the Senior Bronze Womens Provinical Champion. She competed at the Arctic Winter Games bringing home 1 silver and 3 bronze medals.
She will be working on landing her double axel consistently, top scores for all her competitions and to win gold at sectionals.
Wapiti Nordic Race Team
Zachary is heading into his 7th year as a member of the Wapiti Nordic Ski Team.
He was ranked #1 for the 2013/2014 overall in Zone 8. Won a silver medal at the 2014 Alberta Winter Games, and a bronze at the 2014 AB cup race.
He hopes to be a standout member of the Alberta Development Team and make the Alberta Ski Team working towards a Podium finish at the Western Canadian Championships
